Project explanation
Overview
Gnuboard7 Reservation Module, also named glitter-reservation, is a bundled reservation module for Gnuboard7. It provides the complete reservation flow across reservation request, lookup, cancellation, and email verification, and is designed to attach independently to any Gnuboard7 project without modifying core code.
Project Introduction
This project is not a simple reservation interface. It is a modular reservation system that runs on top of Gnuboard7's modules, plugins, and templates structure. It supports the full operational flow from user-facing screens to administrator management, serving both as an example for reviewing extensible CMS module structure and as a reusable production-ready reservation module.
Core Features
The module includes reservation requests, email verification, reservation creation, reservation lookup, reservation cancellation, separation between user and admin areas, reservation list lookup, status changes, reservation detail review, and operational log review structure. The UI is rendered through JSON Layout, with API-based data integration, template routing, layout resolution, and action-handler-driven behavior.
Architecture
It follows the Gnuboard7 module architecture and is based on the modules, plugins, and templates extension structure. It can be copied into modules/_bundled and reused in other G7 projects, installed and activated independently without core changes. The backend is API-based and the UI is based on the JSON Layout Engine.
Tech Stack
The stack includes PHP 8.2 or later, Laravel 12.x, MySQL 8, Laravel Sanctum, and JSON Layout Engine.
Distribution
The module is distributed through GitHub Releases and is in a state suitable for stable distribution. Release packages include glitter-reservation-v0.2.0.zip and glitter-reservation-v0.2.0.tar.gz.
Operational Notes
Public and admin page exposure must be configured through template routes.json. Initial reservation services and schedule data must be configured on the host. Notification features can be extended through an external plugin. The migrations that should actually run are under database/migrations, while database/migrations_excluded is not an execution target.
Target Users and Direction
The module targets developers who want reusable module structures on Gnuboard7, developers and operators who need an operational reservation flow, developers interested in API-based backends and dynamic UI rendering, and users designing CMS structures that can expand by module. Development direction includes reservation UX improvements, stabilization of email-verification-based reservation flows, template and rendering structure cleanup, stronger session/auth/security handling, and better module extensibility and maintainability.
